MIT Rhoans was organized last Feb. 15, 1987 with the survival of 6 pioneers - 5 brothers and 1 sister - through the effort of RK Noel Tabucan (+) and RL Gay Cañizar both from Andres Bonifacio College, Dipolog City. Pioneering batch includes Napoleon Fuentes, Jr., Glenn Walther Murallon, Ramil Leones, Isagani Cagatan, Carlito Hinutan and Teodorica Lira, all of which comes from the Engineering department. Since its founding, MIT Rhoans soared high and became one of the top fraternities in the Campus. They continued to grow slowly but surely true to the vision and values considering quality over quantity.
Over the years, MIT Rhoans continued to hold on to the pillars of the organization. We extended our wings and soared high in the fields of public service. We had sponsored various activities such as sports clinic, city wide cleanliness campaign and the recognition of the students academic excellence by awarding medals and certificates to all high school and elementary schools in the district.
One of the notable effects of the Rhoan medals and certificate is the rhoans recognation from the graduating students from the recepient schools. Students who pursued their college education started to look for a Rhoans in their respective campuses. These sitruation leaves us with no option but to open the doors to the other colleges and universities in the city. Thus MU (Misamis University) Rhoans and ICC-La Salle (Immaculate Conception College) were founded on _______ and _______ respectively.
Years earlier, a chapter was organized by RK Nick Elman at MC (Medina College). MC Rhoans had prove to be one of the top organization in the campus worth of a recognization.
During one of the regional convention called by MIT-Rhoans, a resolution was signed merging the MIT Rhoans (umbrella organization of MU-Rhoans and ICC La Salle-Rhoans) and the MC-Rhoans hence the BIRTH of Ozamiz Rhoans.
To date, Ozamiz Rhoans still a strong and vibrant Fraternity in the City of Ozamis though no more school based rhoans are present.
I believe in the unceasing task of every Rhoan for the betterment of our fellowmen.
For the attainment of our ideals, in the pursuit for justice, in search for truth.
For these i shall ask for no reward, I shall seek for no glory. For only one life will soon be passed, only what is done for God and mankind will last.
And when the challenge demands its supreme sacrifice, then I shall be prepared to give without shame and dishonor, that others may live.
No man is an island, no man stands alone, each man’s joy is joy to me each mans grief is my own. We need one another so I will defend, each RHOAN as my brother each man as my friend.
I saw the people gathered I hear the music start, sound the song that they were singing is ringing in my heart.
